Some years I do very little baking at the holidays, and sometimes I do a fair amount. It just kind of depends on how I’m feeling that year, or what I see that looks cute and I want to try (in addition to standard, family favorites).
This year, as you can see below, I was a bit out of control! 🙂
I found all kinds of cute cupcake decorations and other clever, cute recipes that I just had to try this year!
I tried Divinity (a delicious Southern Christmas treat) by myself this year! It went well!
Melting Snowman cookies. Love how these turned out!
A family favorite. Sour cream Christmas cookies.
Dark chocolate dipped marshmallows with various sprinkles.
I love, love, love these Santa cupcake wrappers and the Dr. Seuss-esque candy canes!
Cream cheese mints. Another family favorite. So very time consuming but, to me, SO worth it.
Santa hat pretzel bites. So easy and so stinkin’ adorable!
Another photo of the chocolate dipped marshmallows.
I was so proud of how the divinity turned out, I had to include a 2nd photo!
Chocolate cupcakes with green buttercream and the most adorable edible tree toppers.
Yesterday, A and I went to watch the 4th of July parade in downtown Edmonds (a suburb north of Seattle). Edmonds is great. It’s such an “Anytown USA” kind of town with its great community and patriotic feel! It was great fun as always, and it seemed like a ton of people there this year! The weather turned out nice after the morning clouds burned off, and good times were had by all:
I’m thrilled to be participating at the “Home For the Holidays” gift show in Bellingham this weekend. It’s the 30th anniversary and is expected to draw a large crowd!
If you’re in the Fairhaven area of Bellingham this Friday or Saturday, be sure and stop by the Bellingham Cruise Terminal (down by train station). It’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas gifts! 🙂
